Within the last year, which were the five biggest deals regarding TV sales in Eastern Europe ?
Within the last year, EM.Entertainment GmbH succeeded in selling a considerable range of children's and youth program to TV stations across Eastern Europe.
In Russia, broadcaster TNT acquired 200 half-hours of program while the five-year agreement with CTC encompasses 624 episodes embedded in a Junior branded block. The program block will be broadcasted under EM.Entertainment's Junior brand and will show series from the company's library.
Hungarian TV station RTL Klub, a subsidiary of RTL-Group, signed an agreement with EM.Entertainment including four seasons of "Digimon" with a total of 205 episodes. Furthermore, CANAL+ Cyfrowy obtained a package of 228 episodes containing series such as "Tabaluga", "Pippi Longstocking", "Maya the Bee", "The Rainbow Fish" or "Sindbad the Sailor".
In the Ukraine, the company has signed a volume agreement with broadcaster K1. The exclusive three-year deal encompasses a volume of 1,200 half hour episodes from EM.Entertainment's high quality library of children's and youth programming.

In the Home Entertainment sector, children's and youth programming from EM.Entertainment was in high demand last year. Established classics such as "Maya the Bee", "Pippi Longstocking" or "Sindbad the Sailor", sequels ("Tabaluga", "Blinky Bill" or "Flipper & Lopaka") and co-productions ("Lapitch, the Little Shoemaker", "The Rainbow Fish" or "Coco Bill") have been successfully sold to media companies in Poland, Hungary, Serbia and CIS.

EM.Entertainment is able to offer a highly attractive and internationally competitive portfolio of programs for children in the relevant three to 14 year-old target group. The portfolio encompasses content in every genre and utilizes all forms of 2D and 3D animation technology. As a result, the content appeals to both, public and private TV stations across Eastern Europe. Thanks to its extensive library of children's and youth programming, the company is able to supply broadcasters with a broad range of high quality content for branded or non-branded blocks. Besides classics like "Maya the Bee", "Pippi Longstocking" or "Nils Holgersson" that have proven to be popular across generations for many years, EM.Entertainment also presents an array of new programs such as action-comedy series "Staines Down Draines", mystery-comedy "Deadly!" or "Marvi Hammer" presents NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC WORLD, an edutainment program comprising 3D and 2D animation and live-action footage of National Geographic.
Which countries in Eastern Europe are extraordinarily important for EM.Entertainment?
The whole Eastern European market is of great importance to us. Over the last couple of years, EM.Entertainment experienced a sustainable growth in sales in this territory. However, due to long-standing relationships and the average licensing fees for half-hour programs, Russia, Poland and Hungary turn out to be our most important markets within the region.

Which agreements have been signed in regards to Merchandising in Eastern Europe ?
Due to their popularity all across Eastern Europe, classic properties like "Pippi Longstocking", "Heidi", "Nils Holgersson" or especially "Maya the Bee" are of significant importance. Thus, EM.Entertainment signed a number of contracts including licensing rights to "Maya" lately. In the food & beverages category, Linea Nivnice acquired a food license for the Czech Republic and Slovakia while Medex will market various fruit juices featuring "Maya" in Slovakia as well. Furthermore, EM.Entertainment reached an agreement with Matejovsky Zdenek regarding licensed products in the Home & Living sector. |
