What are the coming trends in prime-time programming in Eastern Europe ? What are the coming trends in production/distribution of Telenovelas in Eastern Europe ?

In the past couple of years, Western Europe has opened up to the telenovela genre with telenovelas being shown by major TV channels in France, Spain, Germany, Italy. Dori Media has successfully entered these markets, selling its success series ' Rebelde Way ' to MTV Networks in Germany, to ORF in Austria and many others. This is even happening in the US with all the major networks such as ABC working to produce English-language telenovelas. For the first time in 2005 at MIPCOM in Cannes, there was a full day of telenovela screenings, which demonstrates that telenovelas are truly becoming a global phenomenon. This is also true in Eastern Europe. Although telenovelas have been shown there for much longer, there is renewed interest for telenovelas, for new stories, more sophisticated and not only distributing telenovela but also adapting successful stories with local actors in local language. It's an exciting market for a company like Dori Media which is specialised in the production and distribution of telenovela. Dori Media already operates dedicated telenovela TV channels in Israel and Indonesia and is considering other territories including in Europe.

Can you name your products that you had on air in 2005 in Eastern Europe ?

Products sold by Dori media Group in 2005 include: Rebelde Way (season 1 +2), Floricienta (season 1 + 2), Padre Coraje, Hombres de Honor and Amor mio. In April 2006 Dori Media also sold Sos Mi Vida. As for their ratings, these countries are less used to reporting ratings on regular basis so we do not have specific ratings at this time. But the series received among the top ratings in Argentina.

Do you have products in production or on air in Eastern European countries in 2006?

The telenovelas in production include Sos Mi Vida (see attached information), El Refugio (see attached information), Collar de Esmeraldas, Juanita la Soltera

What Eastern European countries are important for your business?

Ukraine, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary were the first countries in Eastern Europe to order our telenovela Sos Mi Vida, Romania, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, The Czech Republic and Slovakia are also important markets for telenovela.
