What are the coming trends in production / distribution of programs in Eastern Europe ?
Eastern Europe is still very keen on French drama. Lately, we have been distributing animation and documentaries (including docu-dramas).
Can you name your products that were aired in Eastern Europe during 2005?
Just a few examples (there are many more programs sold and aired in the region and the programs mentioned here may have been sold to more broadcasters than I can mention!)
Animation: "Tooteuf" was aired on Canal Plus / Zig Zap in Poland, "Flight Squad" in Russia, "Cosy Corner" on TVP in Poland and RTV Slovenia, "Code Lyoko" and "Wheel Squad" (LVK Lithuania), "Spartacus and the Sun Beneath the Sea" on Minimax, TV Markiza has aired: "Cedric", "Papyrus", "Kangoo Junior".
Documentaries: "Walks With an Architect" (19x26') on Slovak TV, several series on HBO Spektrum: "Mysterious Cities of Asi"," The Wine Route", "Destination World", "Palaces of Europe"," The Last Day of Zeugma"; "Homo Sapiens", "Untamed Africa" both on STB.
Drama: "Alice Nevers", "15 A ", Several on MTV: "The Mysterious Lake", "The Thibault", "Princess Mary"," Saint-Trope"; "Lea Parker" on Slovak TV.
Other drama sold in different countries: "The Edge of Truth", "Lagardere".
Format: "Intercities " aired in Russia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Romania.
I should mention that feature films also sell very well in the region.
What Eastern European countries are important for your business?
Generally speaking, the weight of CEE is growing. Russia and the CIS are booming and represented 58% of all our sales to Central and Eastern Europe in 2004. Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic are also traditionally strong territories. |
