What are the coming trends in production in your country?
Quite recently, there was a period of time when film production in Russia was actually stopped. But even today, we already know that the budget allocated by the government for film industry, including animation, has increased this year. According to Sergey Lazarouk, the Chief Manager of the Cinematography Bureau of the Russian Federation Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography, for 2006, it was planned to start production of 85 animation films which will be selected from 134 projects submitted to the expert jury for assessment. And this is a positive sign for the Russian cinema production and its future.
What are the coming trends in production of animation?
New trends represent modern visual series in animation, where pictures and images created according to the classical school traditional canons are substituted by computer three-dimensional solutions. And this is a world tendency which has already showed itself through the example of latest well-known to everybody animation blockbusters. This is a natural manifestation of time, same like when theatre was succeeded by cinema, and then television. But still, development does not imply extinction of the predecessor, but presumes unconditional yielding the palm.
Do you have products in production or on air in Russian animation in 2006?
We are a company that started as distributor of programs for children, and it is already 4 years that we have been presenting foreign animation films in Russia and CIS. For this comparatively short period of time, the company has acquired partners and friends represented by foreign companies specializing on children's contents, and animation in particular. We saw a great interest on the part of our partners for the Russian animation which has a many-year school, has created specialists working, in particular, at major animation studios all over the world. So, one of our company development priority trends is presenting our animators' products abroad.
On the DISCOP 2006, we present new Russian animation film "ESPECIAL" which can be rightfully considered a worthy start of the Russian 3D animation.
This is an ESPECIAL story about a common boy who has become ESPECIAL. This is a film that makes you give thought to the fact that any child is especial, but, to understand it, one should not be afraid of anything, should love one's friends, to be kind and honest. |
