Montreal Providence is an independent film production company that was created in 2004 by a Swiss and French social worker, based in Canada and in Europe. This company aims at producing films dedicated to social issues and redistributes part of its benefits to social and psychotherapeutic projects.
Montreal Providence produced "Genealogy", a short film, dealing with the consequences of sexual abuse experienced in childhood. This film, released in 2005, solely focuses on one specific consequence: the difficulties for a male survivor of sexual abuse to share intimacy with his girlfriend.
Excerpts of «Genealogy» have been broadcasted by the Moroccan TV Channel 2M on April 27 2006, during the "Grand Angle" show on pedophilia.
Montreal Providence would like the film "Genealogy" to be seen in Europe, Canada, and in the USA, and therefore propose it freely to all broadcasters.
Many television broadcasters have refused it (Sundance USA, Art TV Canada, Pink TV, Canal Plus France, Canal 5 Italia, TSR Switzerland, Belgium and English channels, etc....) because short films on pedophilia and on children's rights are almost never accepted on TV. This spot was selected at the short film corner for the first online selection during the 2005 Cannes Film Festival, but a technical problem made this film unseen as other films selected this year (10 on several hundred).
This film is accepted as advertising by television broadcasters, and this case, Montreal Providence does have to find sponsors.
Montreal Providence would be satisfied to find a mobile phone collaboration, or other support for this film to be viewed.
