Love and Fate in Globo Telenovelas

Brazilian Globo "Terra Nostra" and "El Clon" had an outstanding performance and attracted audiences from many countries of the world. This MIPCOM, Globo offers new package of outstanding telenovelas including "America ", "Belissima" and "Soul Made".

"America " is a story where a y oung heroine Sol (Deborah Secco - "Family Ties") ventures into crossing the dangerous border between Mexico and the US in search of a better life in the " Land of Opportunity ". Cowboy Tiao (Murilo Benício - "The Clone") risks his life riding bulls because he wants to be a rodeo champion. Their paths will cross, but their dreams are incompatible. Tiao is attached to his roots; Sol believes in the American dream and is willing to risk absolutely everything to fulfill it. As she doesn't get a visa to enter the US legally, she resorts to a "coyote" (Thiago Lacerda - "Terra Nostra"). She settles down in Miami where she meets Ed (Caco Ciocler), who does everything to seduce the heroine. But neither the American dream nor Ed is enough to make Sol forget Tiao and start a new happy life. Her arrival in America is only the beginning of a path full of challenges. And she'll have to face them all to make her dreams come true.

"Belissima" - from the same director as the international 2005 hit  Shades of Sin ("Da Cor do Pecado"), this contemporary tale portrays the life of a quiet businesswoman, Julia Assumpçao (Gloria Pires / "The King of the Cattle") whose family is blessed by success and beauty - but also cursed by greed and tragedy. The daughter of a dazzling woman who died in an air crash, Julia is plagued by the comparisons drawn by her grandmother Bia Falcao (Fernanda Montenegro), who refuses to accept her simple and discreet lifestyle. Julia faces many stumbling blocks as she tries to step out from her mother's shadow and slip away from the smothering grasp of her controlling grandmother. When Julia falls in love with a worker in her underwear factory, Bia is truly appalled. However, André (Marcelo Anthony / "Her Own Destiny") gradually proves quite different to the man with whom Julia fell in love. With some scenes shot on location in Greece, Belíssima explores the universe of beauty and the importance of appearance in modern society. This telenovelas opened with a 73% prime-time audience rating in Brazil.
