RCN Television: a Network of the Highest Standards

Eight years on the air, 24 hours of first quality continuous programming, with at least 70% of its programming grid being of its own productions and an unquestionable preference by the public, make of RCN the most important television channel in Colombia. A creative team, dedicated and a media expert is behind each one of the station's successes. RCN not only prevails in Colombia. Their telenovelas, recognized in the world by their originality, freshness and humor, have reached more than 80 countries.

It is the case of "I am Betty, the Ugly One", that has been seen in more than 70 countries and adapted in more than 10. The audiences of the United States, India, Russia - and the CIS, Germany, Mexico and Spain are examples which have accompanied this ugly beauty with their different versions and languages.

In addition to their own production produced to cover the local market needs, RCN Television also produces "tailor made" productions for international markets. "Asi es la Vida "("Such is Life); one of it's drama series, is produced with 100% Colombian talent under the requirements of Telefutura, has already conquered the Hispanic public in the United States. "Por Amor" (For Love) and " La Marca del Deseo" (Marked by Desire), that will soon be released next in the same country, also are assured successes.

RCN's latest productions promise to reach places that productions such as "I Am Betty the Ugly One", "Coffee with a Woman's Aroma" and "Mafia's Widow" have reached. This year's most anticipated production, "Hasta que la Plata nos Separe" (Until Money Drives us Apart), is already a success in Colombia and will very soon, be so in international markets. Our up coming release "La Hija del Mariachi" (The Mariachi's Daughter), a spectacular production made in Mexico and Colombia, has romance, fantasy and sentimental music (rancheras) which we are sure will reach the hearts of all gender and ages delivering once again the highest ratings. In the last year and a half, RCN Television has lived another historical moment, managing to positively position all of its productions at all broadcast times. RCN averages a 40% share in households and some broadcasts of "Los Reyes" and "Hasta que la Plat nos Separe" two of the stations flag productions, have surpassed 59% of share in households.

By occupying the first 16 positions within the ranking of the most seen programs in 2006, RCN proves to Colombia's leading national broadcaster. This leadership was once again proven this year by the 18 nominations and 16 awards RCN obtained during the "TV and Novelas Awards 2006"; one of the most important in awards in the Colombian audio- visual industry.
