What are your acquisition strategies?
I'm looking for interesting, accessible, PR-able arts and culture programming - ideally HD or classic library titles. In practical terms this can mean anything from a four-hour Wagner opera in HD to the latest series
from the Sundance Channel.
What programs are you looking for?
Quality performances, arts documentaries and series, preferably in HD. I'm looking out for some good quality contemporary dance performances, classic film and jazz.
Can you name the most successful titles that you acquired in 2005/06?
"Johnny Cash - Half a Mile a Day", "Roy Orbison and Friends - a Black & White Night", "Iconoclasts", "Miles Davis: Miles Electric - A Different Kind of Blue Led Zeppelin" (a rare studio performance from 1969) and "Les Paladins", a stylish modern revamp of Rameau's comic opera shot in HD.
What programs will be in demand at MIPCOM 2006?
We're a niche channel so our needs are pretty different to most of the broadcasters here. For us, good quality HD.
