What are your acquisition strategies?
TV 2 DANMARK the biggest Danish broadcaster needs to be constantly on the forefront of trends and new ways of storytelling. We put a lot of time into following what is going on in the world, and also to develop our own formats and stories.
What programs are you looking for?
In short - the best from the world in all genres, though we don't do much science and history.
Can you name the most successful titles that you acquired in 2005/06?
Difficult to say as we acquire for 3 channels. The one-off documentary stories are doing extremely well for us - we gain up to a 50% share on the main channel from documentaries like "Half Ton Man", "Unfit" to be a Parent, Brainman etc., our wild life strand is doing very well. Here we find single docs from all over the world - the best was "A fin for Fuji the Dolphin" from Mico/ NHK. Feature length docs were highlighted by films like "Metallica" - some kind of a "Monster", ENRON - "The Smartest Guys in the Room" and "Twisted Faith".
What programs will be in demand at MIPCOM 2006?
I will be looking for something to take over from the AIRPORT series. Single docs. Funny unusual documentary series for our small channels. Something that is not predictable and told in an entertaining way. |
