Can you tell us about the coming trends in TV broadcast in your country?

The most significant trend will be the development of "Freeview" - a digital platform for all major broadcasters in NZ.

What is the popular foreign/domestic content in your broadcast slots?

Generally crime/legal dramas rank highest, followed by medical dramas and then sitcoms. New Zealand-made content has become a significant part of broadcast slots covering a range of genres from dramas, comedies to children's shows and entertainment programs.

What are the most important countries for export?

A significant part of NZ's screen production industry involves the making of Television Commercials (TVCs) for global clients and the biggest markets for TVCs and NZ-made Television content are Australia, United Kingdom and the United States. Increasingly TVCs are also being made for Asian clients. All major campaigns being undertaken by NZ companies can be seen at www.justaddnewzealanders.com

How the developments of new technologies (IPTV, VOD, and mobile TV) influence the development of the market?

NZ production houses are very versatile and most of their client base is overseas so they have to respond effectively to global trends. This has seen a lot of NZ companies branching out to provide quality content for everything from mobile phones to games and the industry is diversifying.
