Can you tell us about your experience of sales into Asia-Pacific Region?
We feel that the Asia-Pacific markets are definitely a very dynamic region for television. European content is competing with local as well as the US programming. However, family oriented quality TV-movies and series as wellas solidly produced action programs from Germany and Europe have found their
home in the region. Apart from Japan and Korea, which stand as long established partners for our programs, South East Asia is showing a lot of promise. With the advent of new channels and rapidly evolving TV landscapes in a number of territories, we feel that the biggest potential will be found here.

Storm of Love
The rapid development of new technologies opens new platforms for sellers. Have you already ventured into new technologies (IPTV, VOD, mobile TV, etc) in Asia-Pacific?
Bavaria Media TV's policy towards new technologies is marked by carefully observing this new area of content distribution. As of now, we do not actively pursue licence sales in these areas.
What programs will be in demand at ATF? Please give us your opinion.
Bavaria Media TV is bringing a number of programs to ATF which have already proven their international bankability. "Storm of Love", a 313-episode telenovela from Bavaria, is not only gathering record market shares in Germany, but also made inrows on Italy's Canale 5 as well as in all three Baltic territories. This year's ATF is definitely marked by a number of new series, ranging from telenovela, to soap, to crime and even family fare. |
