Can you tell us about your experience of sales into Asia-Pacific Region?

SevenOne International has a very good track record in Asia. Our clients appreciate the diversity and the high quality of our programs. Event productions like "Towering Inferno" or "The Crows" thrill audiences worldwide with their elaborate special effects. Buyers were already so convinced of the quality of the end product that we could sell the catastrophe miniseries "Tornado" at a early production stage for example to China, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan. This shows the high degree of trust in our programs.


Special Unit

What are the most important Asian markets for you? What key deals did you have in Asia ?

All Asian markets are important to us. Big Events with action miniseries like "Six Weeks of Fear" or family entertainment à la "Ghost of Canterville" excite audiences in Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand and China. Our new action series "Special Unit" has just been sold to Japan. TV Movie packages with Romantic Comedies like "Princess Undercover" or "For Love or Money" went for instance to China, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and Taiwan. Apart from fiction, there's a strong demand for knowledge and lifestyle programs in Asia - our magazine "Galileo extra" is already sold to Thailand and China and we're in negotiation with buyers from Korea and Indonesia. "Extreme Jobs", a magazine on the toughest jobs worldwide, amazes viewers in China, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Taiwan. And our science show "Clever!" is a big hit, running weekly on screens in Thailand and China.

The rapid development of new technologies opens new platforms for sellers. Have you already ventured into new technologies (IPTV, VOD, mobile TV, etc) in Asia-Pacific?

The Asian key territories are already involved in these new markets and our clients acquire IPTV, VOD and mobile rights. Over the next years, the new platforms will play an increasingly important role in the whole region. We keep a close eye on all the developments.

What programs will be in demand at ATF? Please give us your opinion.

SevenOne International will be bringing an attractive mix of about 50 new titles and 300 hours of new programming to Singapore - new series, comedy series, telenovelas, mini-series, movies and formats. Top-notch Event programming like the catastrophe movies "Towering Inferno" and "Futureshock: Comet Impact", adventure miniseries like "The Hunt for Troy", the catastrophe miniseries "Tornado" or the action series "Special Unit" has everything that is needed for international success: exciting stories, high production values, excellent and attractive casts, and state-of-the-art special effects. SevenOne International is very well positioned with TV movies, boasting a lineup of over 20 new titles, like the action movie "Eye for an Eye", the drama "Dream Hotel: South Africa" and romantic comedies like "Opposites Attract" or "My Ex-Boyfriend's Wedding". After the success of "That's Life", which returns for a second season, we are pleased to present our new telenovela,"Love is in the Air". In the format section, we present a wide range of formats. In the prime time celebrity game show "Extreme Activity", "Beat your Host!", a big prime time event show, "Court in the Act", a new comedy panel show. We are also distributing our interactive channel 9Live, the world leader in interactive programming with over 50.000 games and over 240 million calls per year.
