A monk came to a Buddhist monastery and asked the sage whether he could help him to open his third eye in order that he might become clairvoyant.
- There's nothing simpler, said the sage. All you need to do is stop thinking about white monkeys.
- But I've never thought about them, argued the monk.
- So, go on not thinking about them, at least until the next morning.
After a night in a monastery cell, in the morning, the monk pays a visit to the sage; his face shows traces of a sleepless night.
- What have you done to me? - Complained the monk.
- The only thing I'm thinking about now is those damn white monkeys. I see them everywhere. The more I try not to think of them, the more they occupy all my thoughts.
The sage grinned.
- When you manage to get rid of them, he said, then your third eye will open. But this road is long and demands a permanent work on your spirit and mind.
My friend and an outstanding film director Yuri Mamin managed to achieve it and gave birth to his new movie "Don't Think about White Monkeys" that he will present at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
