NATPE '07 is in the books and I'm happy to report that our most recent chapter is a very good one.
Post-NATPE word-of-mouth indicates that the conference was a healthy buying, selling and networking experience for all. A successful NATPE conference means a number of things. It means that our attendees from a business point of view have benefited from the marketplace. It means that attendees have found our panels and other programs rewarding from a professional point of view and, most importantly, a successful conference allows us to recycle funds back into existing and new NATPE programs which are of great benefit to our membership and our industry.
NATPE is truly a non-scripted event where each of our 8,000 attendees create their own universe and come with their own set of expectations. And a diverse group we are! The event is a global digital distribution market and conference celebrating all TV content and dedicated to the needs of all 8,000 people from 75 countries. While it is impossible to satisfy every single agenda, it is our goal to first recognize and meet the needs of all buyers and sellers and then to create a diverse conference that reflects all aspects of our business which at this moment means a wide-ranging discussion of some very complex issues. NATPE is an organic, living and breathing organism. Certainly more art than science and truly market driven. NATPE is designed to be inclusive. It is a collective experience which marries art and commerce with the emphasis on connecting the dots between the two.
The bottom line is the bottom line and the continuing growth and positive feedback we received from the feet on the ground at NATPE '07 is what counts. Now, we look forward to our upcoming events. DISCOP '07 is taking place on Wednesday through Friday, June 20-22 in Budapest. Also, watch the NATPE web site for exciting news about the expanding TV Producers' Boot Camp and NextGEN TV Festival coming in late July.
