Telefe International keeps growing all over the world
"2006 has been the best of the last five years in Telefe International, because we have exceeded our expectations by 20-25%. Even though we had quite an aggressive budget for 2006, we had exceeded it. We are very proud of the success and the excellent reception our products have, and we hope to continue this way during the whole year"

Montecristo
Telefe International, a division of the International Business Department of Telefe announced expansion plans to new countries and new sales. "Montecristo", produced by Telefe Contenidos, keeps up as one of the most successful products worldwide, same as it was in 2006. The telenovela was recently sold to Serbia and Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Philippines and Israel, adding up to the almost 40 territories where it had been sold last year. Furthermore, "Montecristo", through format sales, will soon have local versions in Spain, Colombia (on Caracol network), Italy (with the main fiction producer of that country) and Portugal. It will be released next week in Portugal, at Prime Time on SIC, which has already been airing "Floribella", Flinderella's local adaptation, for a year. This country is also airing the Portuguese version of telenovela "Kachorra" on TVI, with great success. Besides, Telefe International has also managed to sell its most outstanding products in Central Europe such as "Laura's Secrets", "Love's Guard", "Maximo in my Heart", "Dr. Miniature", among others. Telefe International, together with its associate ELG has sold "Tiny Angels" to Spain, so this program for children will be seen in that country soon. Production Company "AMEDIA" from Russia, after the success gotten with "The Roldans"' format which is currently airing there has shot the pilot of successful series "Pretenders". Lastly, it is important to underline the consolidation of Telefe International in the Latin American continent, with countries such as Ecuador, Guatemala and El Salvador where our full catalogue has been placed, and the Spanish speaking market in USA, where a great number of successful products has been sold to networks which have done "syndication" with several local stations of the country. An outstanding case is telenovela "Love's Guard" which airs on LATTV in Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix and Austin at 10pm Monday through Friday, and is repeated twice a day, due to its success. |
