What are your acquisition strategies?
We acquire for The History Channel, the Biography Channel and the Crime and Investigation Network (CI) – Three very different channels, all with their own unique demands. The territories we look after are The UK, Ireland, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Netherlands, Benelux, Greece, Scandinavia and Central Europe. We are looking for cable, satellite and VOD rights.
What programs are you looking for?
My team and I are looking for strong narratives that work across multiple territories. First-person narratives are particularly successful. History covers the last 14.5 billion years and we like to show, not tell our audience the story. The audience has a male 30+ focus. Biography is celebrity focused and aimed at women 30+. We don't do ‘ historical'characters on Bio. CI is ‘ true crime'with an important focus on the forensic examination and detection of crimes. CI's audience is predominantly female. I'm happy to meet anyone who has looked at and understands our schedule requirements, and knows that we don't do comedy, sport or telenovelas.
