Germany What are your acquisition strategies?
Our main aim is to find innovative and strong properties for the 6 – 9 demo. Furthermore, we look for shows that additional bring interactivity. A property's international feeling plus its relevance for German kids are crucial points in finding appropriate content. Fresh ideas with respect to stories, as well as programs with mass appeal design are important, too. For KI.KA, it is indispensable to acquire programs with a high potential for a sustainable brand-value and a long shelf-life. To sum it up: High quality is a must.
What products are you looking for?
Our core target-group consists of children between the ages of 6 and 9-years-old. We are looking for character driven stories, good storytelling and a high quality of animation in 2D and CGI. Acquired animation should be unique, innovative and gender-neutral.
What were your key acquisition deals in 2007?
"Pocoyo" (2 nd season); "I got a Rocket" (co-production); "Cosmic Quantum Ray" (co-production); "PetAlien2" (co-production); "Bernard" (2 nd season); "Dive, Olly, Dive; Sleepover Club" (2 nd season).
What are your plans for MIPTV 2008?
We will be mainly open to live action for the teens and pre-teens, as well as quality animation series for the 6 to 9-year-old viewers.
