What are your acquisition strategies?
Acquisition strategies have to follow general programming strategies. Thus, being a Media Trust with one network television(Antena 1) and several thematic cable channels(4 on air and 3 more to be launched) we are developing an integrated acquisition strategy, in order to use as efficient as possible the budget and the available library. In order to be able to cover the whole market offer, we increased the number of acquisition executives attending markets and developed new business relationships with independent producers/distributors. With so many hours to fill up, the market agenda became more diversified and busy than ever.
What products are you looking for?
We are looking for all sorts of programs from fiction to factual, ready made and formats, movies and sports, current affair and telenovelas, lifestyle and variety shows. We are doing deals with companies from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Germany, Latin America, and Asia.
What were your key acquisition deals in 2007?
We made some important format deals with Endemol and Eyeworks, we renewed the Universal deal, the E!Entertainment deal, made a deal with Sony and another one with Monarchy.
What are your plans for MIPTV?
MIPTV 2008 is a good opportunity to see what is new on the market and to continue good business relationship with our partners.
