What are your acquisition strategies?
The acquisition strategy of Canal+Poland arises from the character of the TV rights we acquire. We take the first run for a program in the territory of Poland, so it is the key issue for us to find the programs suitable for our programming needs as fast as possible. This is why our presence at a fair like MIP is essential for us.
What products are you looking for?
We look for the best documentaries from all around the world, the awarded ones as well as the stories which have – in our opinion – the biggest potential to win our audience, preferably in the HD format. We do appreciate when a story is neatly woven, takes into consideration many aspects of a problem, evokes emotions, interest, responses etc. etc. We do acquire all genres.
What were your key acquisition deals in 2007?
Personally, every deal is of the same significance as every program I buy has its great value. The most successful documentaries of 2007 in Canal+ were: "Workingman's Death", "Rize", "Black Sun".
What are your plans for MIPTV?
MIPTV is an excellent opportunity for me to meet new business partners – both distributors and producers - and also to discuss with our regular collaborators their most recent offer and our current programming needs.
