George Mautkin
Director
Filmofond Lenfilm Studio
Russia
What are your sales strategies in 2009?
We plan to expand our co-operation with TV channels, DVD and theatrical distributors all over the world as well as to continue relations with our permanent partners in USA, Sweden, Japan, France, and Czech Republic, whom we treat as our general partners on these territories. To make the productions from the huge collection of Lenfilm Studio even more attractive for wide audience; we continue to make subtitles for feature films of previous years and also do restoration of those that require it.
What countries are important for your sales?
Actually, we are open to offers from all over the world as we hold world rights in most our productions.
Can you give some example of successful sales of your products in 2008?
Those were mostly classics of Lenfilm Studio, such as a package of titles dedicated to famous musicians (Niccolo Paganini, Musorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov) sold to Spain (all rights), such gold classics as "King Lear", "Hamlet", "The Lady with a Lap Dog", "A Dog's Heart" sold to TV Channel in Sweden and a number of films by eminent film director Iosif Heifitz sold to USA (TV, DVD), big packages of feature films sold to TV in Poland and for DVD distribution in Czech Republic…
What titles will you offer to international buyers at MIPTV 2009?
We pride ourselves for our vast collection of classical films of different genres: war films, fairy tales for children, filmed ballets and operas, historical films, art house, comedies, adventures, and miniseries.
