Zebra TV Channels: Hop!, Luli and Parents Channel
Israel
What are your acquisition strategies for 2009?
At Zebra TV Channels Ltd., we cover a huge range of genres so it is all about knowing what is available in the market and where to find the best programs.
- For our Parents Channel - available both in Israel, Turkey and Germany- we are focused on acquiring programs that will support the channel as a one-stop resource for parents that provides support and guidance in their daily parenting challenges, and also offers its viewers a sense of belonging to a larger community of parents. We buy content both from the leading studios as well as from independent producers and distributors.
- For our preschool channel, Hop!, which is available both in Israel and Romania as a linear channel as well as SVOD service supported by broadband services we are continuously on the search for high quality programming which will help the channel ensure that children between the ages of 1-7 are exposed to a range of content that is age-appropriate and free of violence, thereby encouraging the development of preschoolers while preserving their innocence. We are looking at classic successful international productions as well as innovative content, which is produced constantly around the world and can be easily dubbed into other languages
- For Luli - the channel for toddlers, which is available in Middle East, Europe and Asia we are looking for educational programming that, provides an outlet for parent-toddler bonding.
What genres are you looking for?
- For Parents Channel, we are on the lookout for documentary and doco-reality type series and specials, which cover a wide spectrum of issues relevant to parenting. The programming should highlight these issues in a generally positive light and from various facets including the psychological, medical and leisure points of view.
- Hop! is searching for the following genres in the preschool arena: slapstick comedies, detective stories, dramas and much more. We acquire all sorts of animation genres (clay, 3D, 2D, stop motion, etc.) as well as puppets and live action series.
- For Luli we're searching for interactive, educational programming in all genres: live action, animation, puppets, etc.
What rights are you looking for?
Besides our basic cable and satellite, pay TV channels VOD services as well as an advanced broadband service, we are currently venturing into the IPTV, Computer Networks and Mobile media.
What products will be in demand during MIPTV 2009?
Programs that can be aired in all media. More and more broadcasters are active in more than one technology and therefore want to be able to offer the same content in different variation to fit the different technologies needs: For example, brands with long episodes for linear channel, with a variation of shorter episodes for cellular - thus supporting these brands in their territory by enabling the end users to enjoy their lovable characters on different media wherever they are.
