What are your acquisition strategies for 2009?
Our strategies involve always looking for good and high-quality content of various programs, which will continue to provide unique, exciting, innovative and amazing concepts, which would interest our viewers. We always need to be flexible and creative in our acquisitions, but is important for us to acquire the programs with the most affordable prices. Currently, local programs are primarily on our channel, with comedy-based themes.
What genres are you looking for?
We are looking for shows and series with strong character driven stories, i.e. Animation series that attract boys and girls between the ages of four and 7-years-old, focusing on adventure, smart, fun and less violence. Documentaries based on true stories or fact with a touch of re-enactment (tragedy, disaster, etc, and Documentary for kids. We also are looking some format and high quality movies with good cast and stories.
What rights are you looking for?
We are looking mainly for free-TV rights, some programs with sublicense rights are preferably.
What products will be in demand during MIPTV 2009? Please give us your opinion.
The global crisis will influence the trends and market for all programs. Some companies will choose efficiency for their programming budget, we think local program content or local adaptations that can customize their local audiences will be popular in this situation. Television formats (reality, fun-game, comedy, dramas, etc,) with scripted fiction and entertainment become an answer for this situation and become product in demand within MIPTV 2009. But, some programs such as animation, sketch comedy and light documentary will remain in demand, because some TV executives agree that these program genres are timeless.
