What are your acquisition strategies for 2009?
Acquisition strategies of TVP INFO are related to the latest news and programs concerning political, social and business subjects. We're interested mainly in current affairs documentaries. New 24 hours free satellite service of TVP INFO carried by ASTRA 1KR has been launched on March 2, 2009, for polish viewers living abroad, in polish language only. We look for docs from all over the world, however, according to law; more than 50 % should be European. We work with both large companies and with smaller independent distributors and producers.
What genres are you looking for?
TVP INFO viewers are very demanding, we are looking for the best, and festival awarded programs dealing with both global and local issues. For 2009, we will air, among others: "I.O.U.S.A.", dir. by Patrick Creadon; "Around the World with Joseph Stiglitz", dir. by Jacques Sarasin; "Denied Entry" dir. by Kate Nielson; "Let's Make Money" dir. by Erwin Wagenhoffer; "hronicle of a new global Crisis" dir. by Marc GARMIRIAN and others.
What rights are you looking for?
We look for Terrestrial Free TV rights and we ask for possible Satellite TV rights for Poland and other territories covered by TVP INFO via satellites, cable nets and digital platforms, aired in the Polish language only.
What products will be on demand during MIPTV 2009?
MIPDOC and MIPTV are an excellent opportunity for me to meet new business partners – both distributors and producers, to discuss with our regular collaborators their most recent offer and our current programming needs. We are always in search of new titles, the best products of markets.
