What are your acquisition strategies for 2009?

When you work for television, the key element to my eyes is the story of a relation... this strong link between the public, the media and the rest of the world. Being a broadcaster is having this privilege to see and to share what we found beautiful and relevant. A worldwide crisis will make this link more important than ever and my job is to make connections with facts, bridges between points of view and somehow break the ice of loneliness, fight against the lack of understanding. More than a simple strategy, it's a real responsibility.

What genre are you looking for?

This year, we provided several daytime slots with all kinds of genres (documentaries, fictions (series), kids programs, music …). As an example "Far Away Places" is a daily generous slot, which offers to share the life of billion others through the magic of documentaries. Feel free to browse our Artepro website to contact our team

What rights are you looking for?

Arte's specificity is to broadcast programs simultaneously in Germany and France. Working for these two major territories, culturally so different, are an everyday challenge and a real strength. We are neither national nor international; we are a crossbreeding between two worlds, a world apart with strong European values.

What products will be in demand during MIPTV 2009?

The crisis will put television on the frontline and the public expectation will go for more entertainment.
I would say I will follow this tendency with delightful programs adding an important ingredient to it: "The other factor". History tells us during a crisis that nationalism is not far. I will stay tuned to the richness of this world.
