Fox International Channels Asia

What are your acquisition strategies in 2009?

FIC has taken an innovative approach to acquisition strategies. Besides acquiring the internationally acclaimed shows such as the "C.S.I" and "NCIS" series for our Crime channel, we look for programming that is more unique and diversified. Dramas with controversial new-to-Asia stories are at home on FX and add a little spice to our programming line-up. "Californication", "The Riches" and "Mad Men" - all highly rated award-winning drama series premiered as key anchors of the FX re-launch campaign last November. These shows were all first time Asia premieres. The subject matter has been considered racy, unusual, fresh, and on the Edge of Mainstream which proves that our acquisition strategies are in keeping with the above statement. Humor, another key genre includes "Free Radio", a comedy that chronicles a radio show intern who suddenly becomes the host of the popular morning show called "Moron in the Morning" and "Peep Show", a well-known UK show that depicts the distorted worlds of its two lead geeky male characters. These shows have also become the pillars that make our viewers addicted to the channels. Coming soon to Asia as a first run premiere is "Crash", a new series based on the Academy Award winning movie "Crash" of the same name. In addition, we will bring back the "in"-famous and lovable Hank Moody in "Californication" in the second season premiere returning in April to keep viewers excited.

What genres are you looking for?

We are looking for edgy, bold and sophisticated storylines within comedy, drama, action, crime and all of its sub-genres. Where possible we focus on stunts and theme nights in order to provide the variety that will whet the appetite of our audience.

What rights are you looking for?

Fox International Channels sees itself as a multimedia player in this market that provides content solutions for TV, mobile and Internet in order to fulfill the variety of viewers needs. We discuss all possible broadcast rights for relevant content which is very much determined by each business arrangement. We have already developed original content for NGC and Baby TV starting a few years' back. Using our in-house resources and expertise, we are also starting to produce entertainment products for the FOX brands.
