What are your acquisition strategies?
NDR is looking for high-quality documentaries that work with a German audience - amongst others there must be German protagonists or any other relation to Germany.
What products are you looking for?
Areas of Interest are German/European history, investigative reporting, current affairs and human touch. As NDR is one of Germany's biggest producers of wildlife and nature documentaries and has to fill slots in two networks I am looking for these as well.
Can you name the most successful titles that you acquired this year?
NDR commissioned France 2's six-parter "Apokalypse" on WW2, which we'll adapt for a German audience. NDR also commissioned "Worse than War", Mike DeWitt's documentary on Daniel Goldhagen's forthcoming book about genocide (JTN Productions for Thirteen/WNET). Both haven't aired yet, but I'm sure they will be successful.
What products will be in demand during MIPCOM 2009
Hopefully quality, quality and quality. |
