CME
What are your acquisition strategies?
It is already a well-known fact that CME will open new female-oriented channels throughout some of its territories- the first one it will be opened in Slovakia, this year, "Doma", the second one will premiere in Romania, "ACASA Classic" (here we already have one, the successful ACASA) and soon, at least 2 more countries will follow. Following ACASA's pattern, the acquisition strategies for these new female-channels include having Volume Deals with the most important telenovelas distributors and acquiring the best female content available, taking into account the particularities and programming needs for each country market.

What products are you looking for?
We are looking mainly for the best female fiction available, meaning telenovelas from Latin America, European series and American movies for our female audience.
Can you name the most successful titles that you acquired this year?
Without any doubt, I have to mention Promance's Gypsy Heart and Regina. Gypsy Heart was a huge success both in Romania, on CME's channel ACASA and in Slovakia, on Markiza. Regina, the sequel of Gypsy Heart, also a Promance product, was a smashing hit on Romania's ACASA, with 100% leadership on the channel's main target (female 15-49-years-old). The telenovela was broadcast in the 20h00 timeslot, with one hour and a half episode, from Monday to Thursday. This year, it will begin to be aired also on Slovakia's new Doma channel and we hope the best for it. We also acquired good quality and very successful titles from Televisa and Telemundo and I'm referring to "Cuidado con el angel", "Dona Barbara", "Sin senos no hay paraiso" -, which performed extremely well in Romania and other CME countries.
What products will be in demand during MIPCOM 2009?
I think that long-running series and telenovelas will be even more in demand, as new markets have recently re-opened for this kind of product (Hungary, Poland), as well as low-budget fiction formats.
