What are your acquisition strategies?
I am revisiting the volume deals we have with the studio's to see where we can improve those deals so that there might be more value for us as well as for the studio's. With the economic crisis and the fast changing television landscape, I believe, there is a lot of room for improvement for both parties and more need for partnership.
What products are you looking for?
With, among others, 4 FTA channels we are looking for all genres apart from Music and Kids programming. Not too niche English language programs available in HD and usable on all different platforms.
Can you name the most successful titles that you acquired this year?
Many successful programs came via our volume deals and many one-off documentaries did very well but our most recent "successful" acquisition might very well be the Michael Jackson concert we acquired from Beta. So, I have lied while answering question 2 and retract that statement and change it for « We almost never look for Music programming »
What products will be in demand during MIPCOM 2009?
I don't really know. I know everyone will be looking for strong series with prime time potential, but I'm afraid that with production budgets going down they will be hard to find. On the other hand, a lack of funds might spark creativity, so who knows. There is, however, a couple of series I am looking for, but they are best kept secret.
