What are your acquisition strategies?
Eén is the biggest TV channel in Flemish Belgium. Most of our programs in prime time are made in Flanders, but about 20 percent of our prime time schedule is foreign content. Most of them high quality drama series, current affairs programs and human-interest documentaries, mainly from The Netherlands (with whom we share our language) and Britain.
What products are you looking for?
Eén wants to diversify from Belgian commercial channels. Therefore, we choose independent productions, mainly European, instead of American fiction series.
Can you name the most successful titles that you acquired this year?
Dutch police drama series, nature documentaries and BBC costume drama did very well.
What products will be in demand during MIPCOM 2009?
Viewers are always in for programs that tell a good story. Let us look out for great stories, more than nice formats. |
