Director
Filmofond Lenfilm Studio
Russia
What are your sales strategies in 2009?
We plan on expanding our co-operation with TV channels, DVD and theatrical distributors all over the world, as well as to continue relations with our permanent partners in the USA, Sweden, Japan, France, Spain, Czech republic, etc, whom we treat as our general partners on these territories. To make the productions from the huge collection of Lenfilm Studio even more attractive for wide audiences, we continue to make subtitles for feature films of previous years, and do restoration of those that require it.

Biopic: "Goya, or the hard path of knowledge"
What countries are important for your sales?
We are open to offers from all over the world, as we hold world rights in most our productions.
What big names can you mention to do with creation of your productions?
Many outstanding film directors have contributed to the creation of our big movie collection, a number of them still working at our studio: Grigory Kozintsev, Semyon Aranovich, Iosif Heifitz, Viktor Tregubovich, Pavel Klushantsev, Alexey German, Alexander Sokurov…In respect to the same question, I should also mention some names of outstanding Russian and foreign writers who have inspired the creation of our classical screen versions: Alexander Pushkin, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Lev Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov, Nikolay Gogol William Shakespeare, Ethel Lillian Voynich, James Aldridge…
What titles will you be offering to international buyers at MIPCOM 2009?
We pride ourselves in our vast collection of classical films of different genres: war, fairy tales for children, biopics, filmed ballets and operas, historical films, art house, comedies, and adventures. We also offer our high quality and popular TV series like the one about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes (11 episodes totally), which was announced as one of the best screen versions of Arthur Conan Doyle's novels by the London Sherlock Holmes Club, and the historical costume series "Russian Empire. The Beginning" (6 x 52') encompassing Russian history in the 17 th to 19th centuries, and many other mini TV series. |
