Can you tell us about the most important changes in your company's activities in 2009?

As one of the largest content distributors in Latin America, GloboTV International always attempts to offer the market, high standard and state-of-the-art productions, as well as a varied portfolio, with products to appease all kinds of viewers.  We are always looking for new deals with new partners in different medias. Today, not only are we working with Open TV Channels - our traditional partners, we are also developing diversified and premium products that cater to the needs of channel programming, including Pay-TV channels, digital channels, Internet, while constantly in search of partners for new co-production deals.

What are your sales strategies this autumn?

We believe that this edition of MIPCOM will bring positive results.  With the gradual recovery of the economy, the market already begins to show new investment possibilities in quality products.  With this scenario, this market will be an excellent opportunity to start pre-selling our first co-production.

We believe that "The Favorite" will be another highlight.  It is full of mystery and brings out the character in people and family. This telenovela hit high ratings in Brazil and we predict that it will be a big success at MIPCOM.  The plot was written by writer João Emanual Carneiro, the same author as "Shades of Sin" that has already been licensed in more than 100 countries.

What are the most important countries for your sales?

Latin America is a traditional market for us.  Today we find ourselves present during primetime throughout a great part of the territories and our productions are being exhibited in about 80% of the region.  Asia is also a market clearly in development.  Our presence has been growing year after year, as we have seen good opportunities in this region.  Our 5-year-agreement with the EPG group from South Korea shows this.

In Europe, we can cite Portugal, a historical partner for Globo, annually exhibiting more than 1000 hours of our productions. For the most part of the European continent, we have found the open TV market very well developed and diversified, due to this, we believe we have many opportunities to grow, especially in PayTV and digital channels.

What new titles do you offer at MIPCOM?

For this edition of MIPCOM, we will bring a new telenovela to market, co-produced with Telemundo Studios.  We will present buyers with a new version of "The Clone", a telenovela originally produced by TV Globo in 2000.

As well as this, "The Favorite" is a title that we believe will be a big highlight at MIPCOM. The telenovela has the characteristics that attract the grids of different kinds of buyers. A proof of this success is that this telenovela has already been sold to more than 70% of the Latin American countries.

Something new for MIPCOM is "Globo DOC Carnaval", that takes us behind the scenes of the biggest party in Brasil, with preparations, the choice of lyrics for the song that will be sung throughout the festivities, competition between the samba schools, and the emotion of all the revellers as well as that of the public on the day of the Carnaval.  This documentary is divided into three parts of 45 minutes: "The Celebration of Samba", "Samba Sweat and Tears" and "The Greatest Spectacle on Earth".

New things that were presented at MIPTV will be back at MIPCOM in our original formats. Among these, we can highlight "The Spelling Game", a weekly game where students from different parts of the country gather together for a contest of "Spelling" in their mother tongue. The host, stimulates competition between the youths and fires up the audience.
